Any Port In A Storm

"There is a wisdom that is woe; but there is a woe that is madness. And there is a Catskill eagle in some souls that can alike dive down into the blackest gorges, and soar out of them again and become invisible in the sunny spaces. And even if he for ever flies within the gorge, that gorge is in the mountains; so that even in his lowest swoop the mountain eagle is still higher than other birds upon the plain, even though they soar." -Herman Melville

Stuck in this blizzard. Chicago once again has defeated my ability to feel productive at all. I miss my Hoosier friends today.

The park tool tech summit made me sad about bicycles. It took something I’ve always idealized and once again deformed it. Made it the monstrous capitalistic beast I am constantly trying to convince myself it is not.  Yuck.

Plus I don’t like Leonard Cohen’s book “Beautiful Losers” but I will finish it to feel accomplished.
